Prepaid Lumia 521 sold out yet again at T-Mobile. Available only at HSN. Labelled “Customer pick”.

Popular Lumia 521 is still proving difficult for Nokia and T-Mobile to keep into stock. The prepaid version of the device has again sold out and is out of stock at T-Mobile. This will be 3rd or 4th time in row that this has happened. It raises very valid questions about demand planning of the device by Nokia and T-Mobile. Perhaps, they could have handle it better!!

Currently prepaid Lumia 521 is in stock only at HSN, which now labels it “customer pick“. Sadly both Walmart and Bestbuy with best price of $129 for Lumia 521 are sold out of the device.

  • FYI, the Lumia 521 is still available online at T-Mobile:

  • Sold-out is an euphemism for unavailable because of bad supply.

I am not surprised – only Nokia is. I’ve being checking since 2012 and Windows phones have always been absent. Since April 2013 Lumia 620 & 520 have been topping sales charts most of the time. And these are unlocked phones not sold by any US carrier. This by itself would have shown Nokia that the US market is changing in their way and that they should plan their production accordingly. Lumia 620 unlocked has been sold and well reviewed on Amazon since February.

Check out Expansys US now and you’ll notice that the Lumias occupy 13 of the top 20 positions:

Sell-outs should not be happening in this way. GET THE STOCK IN NOKIA.
