As per the CounterPoint research’s Q3 2017 report, Nokia had 5% smartphone market share in Vietnam that gave it 4th ranking behind Samsung, OPPO and Vivo. Nokia 3 was the best-selling smartphone for Nokia. As mentioned in the report,
“Vietnam’s smartphone market is driven by the fast-growing $100-$150 price segment which is contributing to almost third of the shipments.
The entry of Nokia HMD and iTel among top five players in smartphone segment was one of the key trends during the quarter as they ramp up their presence in the sub $150 segment, which was also the fastest growing segment.
For Nokia HMD, Nokia 3 was its best-selling device while for iTel it was S11 Plus.
Coming to overall phone sales, HMD was the 2nd top vendor though market share details for overall phone sales are not provided by CounterPoint.
We last reported about Nokia brand making a comeback to top rankings in terms of handset sales performance in many markets like Germany, Middle East, Russia, the UK, Indonesia and India. Globally it is back to the 8th rank.
Industry watchers like Strategy Analytics are also showing confidence in HMD’s strategy by betting Nokia Phones to one of the drivers of smartphone shipment growth in 2018.
