A look at latest Statscounter data for Vendors and Mobile OS gives insight into how Nokia, S40 and Windows Phone have displayed a growth from March to June 2013, which is obviously Q2. While, both Nokia and S40 have suffered decline in Q1 2013 and have seen their installed base eroding from January to march 2013, post March 2013 they have shown upward trend. Windows phone have shown growth in both the quarters though, and from March to June has grown its installed base from 1.12% to 1.45%. Nokia’s installed base has seen a growth from 20.94% to 22.09%. Obviously most of this growth comes from S40 which has grown from 12.45% to 13.61%.Untitled

Now, in case you are wondering what impact this 1.15% installed base growth can indicate about Nokia’s Q2, then it shows better Q2 device shipment figures than Q1. As can be seen from the graph, Nokia’ installed base fell from 25% to 21% from December 2012 to March 2013 and Nokia’s device shipment went down from 86 million in Q4 2012 to 63 million in Q1 2013.

So, in Q2 this increase in installed base of 1.15% may count for a good increase of some million devices over Q1 for Nokia, obviously this growth coming from both S40/Asha and Windows Phone devices.
