A company’s Job listings provide very useful clues about its future plans and Nokia is no exception here. We have reported Nokia assessing a Mobile phones & Mobile devices re-entry to en-cash the Nokia brand value. Nokia accounts have also teased about some possible communication about Nokia’s future plans from 17th November.
Now, some recent job listing reveal about Nokia’s hardware & software plans. From one of the job listings,
You will lead the product management activities for a new category of device products, including defining the product proposition and business opportunity. Your strong leadership and contribution is instrumental in making our products competitive leading to the commercial and business success we expect from them.
You will cover all global product management activities from concepting through the product development and in-market phase, including both the physical device and the software that goes with it. You will be responsible for translating consumer needs and customer requirements into world-class competitive product concepts, do the actual concepting work together with product development and oversee that products are implemented as planned.
The mention of “new category of devices products” is very interesting. That does confirm, Nokia is planning foray into more than one device categories.
One more job listing talks about “hardware design” and needs Mobile Phone development experience.
Product validation is done in close co-operation with other Hardware designers, but also in close collaboration with Software and Mechanical and ID designers.
M.Sc.or B.Sc. in Electronic Engineering, telecommunication or other relevant field
