Though we knew it but already, but good to see “Engadget” confirming the same in their review of iPhone 5S. Apple has increased iPhone 5S sensor size by mere 15%, decreased aperture to F/2.2 and boasted about increased “pixel” size as if it is only thing image quality is dependent upon. Anyways, while Engadget sees no to slight appreciable change in daylight imaging quality over iPhone 5, but perhaps this has helped iPhone 5S in low-light imaging. But while compared to Lumia 1020, it still showed more noise and fewer details.

Even so, our sample shots still showed more noise and less detail than the same images taken with the Nokia Lumia 1020. The 5s also does a good job of reproducing color, but it’s not the best performer in this category, either.
