HMD selling only ‘Made In India’ Nokia 3, 5 & 6 in Indian market

HMD launched Nokia 3, 5 and 6 in India on June 13 and while Nokia 3 is already available in stores now; both Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 will be available in coming days. We had earlier heard about

We had earlier heard about “Made in India” possibility for Nokia 3, 5 and 6 units to be sold in India from HMD management. And, now it is official that HMD is selling only locally manufactured Nokia Android Phones in India.

This has been confirmed by HMD India PR team to NPU and as you can see in the image below, the Nokia 3 retails box bears its local Indian manufacturer name, which is a part of Foxconn. This may have also helped in pricing Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 better in India.

Nokia always had massive manufacturing presence in India and also exported made in india phones to other markets. So, it is a welcome move on the part of HMD to bring a part of its manufacturing to India.

Ok phones in price sensitive market. they could have prices more competitively or used more powerful chips. phones looking good but people wont purchase just because build quality is good.

    • Right and wrong. People will purchase Nokias seeing its build quality and design and if it works well in showrooms. But many who look at Specs may not buy it as it is costly.
