HMD may launch Nokia 9 or Nokia 7 globally only in 2018 now

In case you have been waiting for Nokia 7 or Nokia 9 launch at the end of the year 2017, then you are in for some disappointment. Don’t expect any new phone launch or extension of Nokia 7 availability in other markets in whatever remains of the year 2017.

HMD may be looking forward to the next year to launch Nokia 9 we hear. It may arrive in early 2018, but dates are not finalized so far. Coming to the Nokia 7 which has been only launched in China, there is no launch planned anymore in the year 2017.

As per we think, decisions related to Nokia 7 stock and component availability for Nokia 9 is forcing HMD to plan for the launches in early 2018. HMD would like to have enough in stock before going ahead with the launch. Nokia 7 has been selling very well in China.

I can understand if they want to wait for Snapdragon 845 for Nokia 9. But why delay Nokia 7? I think HMD Global might be a to slow moving company to be a big contender to Samsung, Apple and Huawei and the other in the top ten list.

Since Samsung will pressure Qualcomm to always have the first batch of Snapdragon latest and greatest chips. I think in the long term the only way for Nokia to compete in the flagship segment are to make a own processor or turn to MediaTek to help them.

If not they will always be like three or four months behind Samsung (like Sony) . And thats a long time in the fast moving smartphone war.

Moreover, Your sources stated about the release 6-7 smartphones this year, however, it also turned out to be completely untrue

Two months ago, when I wrote to you that many of the Media write that the announcement will take place in 2018 at MWC You say that your sources say otherwise and they haven’t failed, that preserves your reputation. Now it turns out that all this time they led you by the nose?! It is not the first time you have a strong lead: enough to remember live photos of Nokia 8 in may of this year, which of your sources called fake after the release of the Nokia 8 in August it turned out that they were completely true!

Well, hopefully it launches with sd845.Nokia 8 would do for now. Hopefully the Lumia camera software update comes soon along with improved battery life.

If it launches in 2018 without a snapdragon 845 nokia had better be ready to release the nokia 10 a month or 2 later.

Eh, the difference between the Snapdragon 835 and 845 is minimal in normal use. With Project Treble included in Android 8.0, it’s not even an issue with software support length, which was the issue with having older processors before.

This website needs to be revamped. Everytime I load it on my mobile, the page reloads (behaves like reloading) 2-3 times often (mostly because of wrong placements of ads and article sections). Try it on Microsoft Edge on a Lumia or Chrome on Android. Moreover, on Opera Mini the experience is really bad. Articles do not show up. Please revamp it. It is too much annoying to use this website. You guys can take cues from Gsmarena.

Checked on Edge on Lumia and Chrome on Android and also on Edge on Android, it just loaded fine for me as many times I tried. Opera mini renders pages differently so we can’t really do anything about that.

I face the same problem on Edge on Lumia 730

        • Kamal

Can’t really reveal “who told ya”. Nobody does.
