washington-transit-map58Nokia has pushed an update for its HERE Maps data for all of its apps including Windows Phone, Android and iOS. Nokia claims millions of updates in the map data across the world and lists some major noteworthy updates. Have a look at the major changes below.

  • The following countries now have much more detailed maps, and allow for navigation within our apps, and show a much fuller road network and land usage details: Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon and the island nation of São Tomé and Príncipe.
  • Refined public transit lines in more areas of the Americas, in Europe, Australia and New Zealand. And we anticipate that the improved data source we’re now using will have the added bonus of being easier and quicker to update in the future.
  • In this update, there’s a particular upgrade for logistics companies. We’ve made it possible for the truck attributes of roads to be seen in offline apps. (These are properties like weight or height restrictions, legal restrictions and hazardous material bans).

On Windows Phone, open the settings app on your phone, then tap the applications tab > maps > check for updates. On Android and iOS, you’ll get a notification prompting to update.
