Low-light prowess of 808 PureView’s Camera. Some images without flash :)

In last few days, we have heard a lot about “PureView” on Lumia 920 and how amazing pictures it can take in low-light without flash. So, I thought of trying the original PureView, the 808 in low-light conditions without flash and by just playing with the ISO levels and just check for yourself the power of 808 PureView. Mind you, the images are captured in really near-dark conditions. All images are captured in 8 MP PureView resolution. Do, let us know your thoughts in comments section.

One more thing, you can catch more pictures by following our Flickr Link.

knowfirst , what r u on about ? Stabilisation ., sure , but low light ? As Damien Dinning himself said it on night mode the 808 beats the 920 as u can see above because of oversampling . Those 920 low light pics r night mode , which the 920 goes into automatically . Also , if u notice , in the Verge’s photoshoot , the 808 is on auto with the flash off . That tells u that though the 920 is a good phone and better than its competitors , it’s not a match for the 808 .

    • Guys :). both are excellent devices and will carry the PureView branding with aplomb. 808 PureView has proved everything it needed to and from biased to fanboy to anti-nokia websites are blown away by its brilliance. It is my daily driver and proud posseson as well.
But, I am certainly up for Lumia 920 as it brings some brilliance packed in a slender and stunning design, and the tech used by Nokia might not be as overwhelming but is very effective.

Just hope now that both the pureview can be merged and with graphene sensor come in a relatively slender design. That’s the ultimate dream camera smartphone for me 🙂

920 beats 808 to pulp when it comes to low light and stabilization.. but the thing is, can it atleast beat its rivals like s3, iphone, htc in image details???, i highly doubt it, but 920 really impressed me more than 808.. hope it produces details more than n8 and atleast in some conditions equall to 808(i doubt this one)…

Nice demonstration. No doubt 808PV is the one & only.
Check this out, HDR on 808PV like never before:
