We had told you about the possibility of this happening via our sources and this has become a reality now. HMD has entered into an exclusive partnership with Zeiss to bring Zeiss optics in future Nokia Smartphones. And this is very very exciting news for Nokia fans, who have proudly wielded Nokia Imaging flagships like Nokia N8, 808 PureView and Nokia Lumia 1020 all featuring Carl-Zeiss or Zeiss optics.
Nokia’s imaging innovations combined with Carl-Zeiss optics became the gold standard for smartphone imaging quality, which still remains unmatched by even the latest breed of smartphones from competitors. This raises the hopes very high for upcoming flagship Nokia 9 to feature Zeiss optics at the back. Nokia 9 may feature a 13 MP Dual-Lens camera on the back and now it seems we will see Zeiss branding on the camera module again.
This is what Arto Nummela, CEO, HMD Global has to say about this partnership,
“Collaborating with ZEISS is an important part of our commitment to always deliver the very best experience for our customers. Our fans want more than a great smartphone camera, they want a complete imaging experience that doesn’t just set the standard but redefines it. Our fans expect it and, together with ZEISS, we’re delivering it – co-developed imaging excellence for all.”
