After releasing the HERE Maps Android Beta to Samsung Galaxy store on October 8 and for all Android devices on October 21, Nokia released HERE Maps Android app finally to Google Play Store on December 12, 2014. Since then the app has seen lots of downloads and enjoys great user ratings. If you check now, the app seems to have crossed 1 million downloads and the overall downloads numbers are shown to be between 1 million – 5 million.
Update:
Nokia has now talked about the real numbers, and seems the HERE Android app has been downloaded 2.5 million times on Google Play Store already. HERE Android Beta had already amassed almost 1 million downloads, before even coming to Google Play store.
As per the official info from HERE,
Many of you know us for the Android app we recently released on here.com and Google Play. In 12 weeks it has been downloaded almost 2.5 million times. In many countries it’s the top app in the Travel & Local section and it’s been featured by many blogs as one of the best Android apps of 2014.
The app enjoys 34,473 ratings and a score of 4.4, which can be considered quite healthy given the app is still in Beta.
