Third quarter of 2018 has become one with the highest shipment figures for Nokia Android smartphones. A report from analyst firm CouterPoint Research suggests that 4.8 million Nokia smartphones were shipped for a 9th vendor ranking in Q3.
Nokia smartphone shipments accounted for 1% of global smartphone market share. In comparison 4.5 million units were shipped in Q2 2018 and 4 million Nokia smartphones were shipped in Q1 2018.
So, one can clearly see an upward trend when it comes to Nokia smartphone shipments QoQ. While impressive, HMD does need to do more and scale up faster to reach more customers with more devices. Popular devices like Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 5.1 Plus are still unavailable in most of the markets.
In fact, it can be said that HMD has been fine tuning its strategy all this while and now has some really capable products being offered at quite competitive prices. Q4 2018 being the holiday quarter may usher in better shipments figures than ever.
Thanks Simon for the tip. Cheers!!
