I’m in the market for a new phone, and this one sure is a contender, unless they manage to f*ck up the availabilty again.

    • Buster95

Nokia had always problems with the availability since the first Lumia devices.

  • akcme

Why would you say price is sweeter for Indian customers ($599×64) = Rs 38336? It ain’t sweeter given these phones might be assembled in India or China and it should get local manufacturing benefits if it’s done in India.

  • Nelsyv

Anyone know what display tech they’re using? AMOLED? LCD?
I’m curious whether Nokia 8 is going to be daydream ready.

I continue to highly doubt the veracity of these “leaks”. Never EVER in the History of Nokia have they used the same design for two phones much less when one is a low end phone and another the flagship.

If HMD does this, it will be a slap in the face of every Nokia fan and it deserves to fail. Because they’ll be just selling you the cheap carcass of a low end device with an updated camera and processor and asking for a ton of money in return.
I don’t want to believe that HMD would do such a thing. If they do, I’ll be publicly asking Nokia to review the partnership and possibly cancel it.

Until then I’ll maintain my belief that this is just more bullshit from the sleezy Blass who is trying to regain the attention he has lost to OnLeaks with more fake Nokia “leaks”.

Because these “renders” are pretty much the Nokia 5 with a photoshopped extra lens and Zeiss branding. Just look at them side-by-side

Just accept it how it is.
“If they do, I’ll be publicly asking Nokia to review the partnership and possibly cancel it.” – a.k.a you will post another troll comment on here.

“just more bullshit from the sleezy Blass”
All his latest leaks were correct – and more accurate than the ones from Onleaks.

“Because they’ll be just selling you the cheap carcass of a low end device”
Again, their selling point is that the Nokia 5 may not perform like a flagship, but looks like one.
How can they say that if they use a different design for their flagships?
Also Nokia 9 will be different, but also a lot more expensive.
Look at S8, or the predicted prices of Note 8 and iPhone 8. That is almost double the price of the Nokia 8.

1 – As a Nokia shareholder I have a little more power than that. Sorry to inform you. It’s perks of being an adult. You’ll get the chance one day 😉

2 – All his Nokia leaks were fake. I’ve already proven that. If you don’t accept facts, that’s your problem.

3 – “selling point is that the Nokia 5 may not perform like a flagship, but looks like one.
How can they say that if they use a different design for their flagships?”
The Nokia 5 doesn’t look like a flagship. So if that’s what they think a flagship looks like, they’re in serious trouble.

4 -” Nokia 9 will be different, but also a lot more expensive.”

You don’t even know if there’s such a thing as the Nokia 9 let alone what it will be like.

5 – “Look at S8, or the predicted prices of Note 8 and iPhone 8. That is almost double the price of the Nokia 8.”

The S8 now can be bought for 600€. And it’s a vastly superior phone to the rumoured Nokia 5,8.
So will the Note 8 be. As for how the Nokia 9 will fare against those, we’ll have to wait for that phone to even exist.

I wished they pushed the boundaries of design a bit more. It’s very ho-hum and very (insert any dozen of native Chinese OEM Android device makers) with no real NOKIA DNA to be found. I don’t know if Microsoft owns of the design traits of the old N9 derived Fabula design language but I would have loved to see HMD paying homage to that iconic design with their flagship interpretation. In a sea of Android device makers, this design will do very little to make this stand out over so many others least of which Samsung and their S8.
