Nokia 3 Android Oreo Beta Hands-on: All new features/changes/Camera, performance, bugs, disappointments

The Android Oreo Beta update for Nokia 3  is now rolling out for Nokia 3 variants TA-1020 and TA-1032. We received this update in India on our Nokia 3 TA-1032 variant. In case you are wondering how to enroll and push Oreo Beta to your Nokia 3 you can check our tutorial here.

The time now for our hands-on video of Nokia 3 running the Beta version of Android Oreo. The Oreo Beta update brings the majority of Android Oreo’s changes and features and a new and redesigned camera app for Nokia 3 (Check the demo below). Two features Night Light and Ambience display are however missing from Nokia 3.

In this video, we have demoed the new changes and features of Android Oreo update like UI changes, Notification improvements, Settings revamp, PIP mode, Icon Shape change, usability improvements and also a change in the swipe up gesture to open the app drawer. You can, however, take a deep dive of Android Oreo and check our updated complete list of Android Oreo changes and features for Nokia Android smartphones by clicking here.

Coming to performance and other improvements, on Nokia 3 the Oreo Beta update brings significant performance improvements and feels much smoother. It does have a Camera bug though due to which you can not get the new camera app straight away. You can check how to get the new camera app in our second video below. Battery life deterioration is also noticeable but hopefully, newer builds will address it.
