We have earlier stressed the fact that HMD is still in plans to deliver the much-hyped Nokia 9 by the end of this year. Sources close to us and the significant price drop in various markets(first in India and then others) were the rationales on which we wrote about a few days back. Giving a buttress to our claim HMD once again slashes the Nokia 8 Sirocco price but this time in the Middle East. Saudi Arabia, and UAE to be more specific.
In the UAE, the Nokia 8 Sirocco is now available at a price point of AED1,599.00, coming down from AED1,799.00. On the hand, in Saudi Arabia, the price has come down to SAR1,699.01 from SAR1,999.00.
Many were of the opinion that the price drop is due to the upcoming Nokia 8.1 and has nothing to do with the Nokia 9 as the benchmark for the former device got leaked on Geekbench website a few days back, which is again in counter to what we have claimed previously. And now that we are on the cusp of 2019, it becomes all the more difficult to predict which one would it be, Nokia 8.1 or the Nokia 9 or the company, to everyone’s surprise, might just launch both of them at a single event. It is better to leave that to time.
