HMD or Nokia may be planning to open e-commerce stores in India soon. This has been revealed by the official Nokia Mobile Twitter account in reply to a query.
you will be able to purchase phones offline via retailers and operators. We will be opening an e-commerce store in the future
— Nokia Mobile (@NokiaMobile) March 22, 2017
What the conversation also revealed is not only retailers even network operators will be selling Nokia Android Phones.
Nokia in its heydays had huge branded retail presence in India with Nokia Priority Stores in every place of importance. It later transitioned these retail channels to Microsoft. But what we can infer from the tweet is that HMD may be planning to launch Nokia branded retail stores again.
We remember Rajeev Suri, CEO of Nokia confirming that Nokia will use HMD sales channels for pushing Withings Product range too. So Nokia branded e-commerce stores may cater to Nokia Phones, Nokia-branded wearables and other Nokia Digital Health products in near future.
