For people using Nexus, Pixel, Android One or Google Play Edition device, Google has pushed an update for the Phone dialer app in the Google Play Store. The Phone app helps you to improve your calling experience and gain control over calls with features like spam protection, caller ID and call blocking.

With the latest update, version 10.1, Google is introducing emergency location display for the Phone app. This means Google will be attaching a location card to the dialing screen when calling a recognized emergency phone number like 100, 101 or 102 from your phone in India, for instance.

The dialer screen also transmits your current address with near exact coordinates which should help emergency responders to act timely and avoid any mishap.

What’s New

  • Emergency location display
  • Call waiting improvements (accept second call and end ongoing call)
