Google revamps Android Messages UI with categories & new options

Google has started rolling out a new UI for the native Android Messages app. The new UI that seems to be available for those enrolled to the Messages Beta introduces message categories enabling tabbed browsing.

As one can notice in the feature image above the categories are All, Personal, Transactions, OTPs, Offers and More. One can tap on the tabs to check messages under all categories.

One can also enable or disable the tabbed browsing of messages in “Message organization” settings. There is also an option to automatically delete the OTPs older than 24 hours.

The update may or may not be available on your Nokia smartphones but you can try enrolling to Beta by going to app listing on Google Play Store.
