We had earlier reported about launch timelines for Nokia 9 successor that can be launched as Nokia 9.1 PureView. While our sources originally tipped us about HMD planning a launch at the end of Q3 2019, it seems that is not the case now.
Nokia 9.1 testing and feedback cycle has HMD development team focused on resolving some issues related to some of the major USPs of the smartphone, the camera being one of them. HMD doesn’t want to hurry and wants to avoid the bad press that Nokia 9 PureView faced initially.
While predicting a launch timeline for Nokia flagship is fraught of risks, sources still are hopeful of an early Q4 launch for the 5G capable flagship smartphone Nokia 9.1 PureView.
Coming to the top features of the smartphone, HMD will play the camera prowess to the hilt again depending upon Light camera technology to deliver the goods. But we can expect even better camera performance with a special focus on video and low-light performance. Camera speed has also been improved with a combination of better processor and software algorithm improvements with the help of Light. But the development team still is working on optimizations.
We also hear that design-wise Nokia 9.1 Pureview may adopt the Nokia X71 like punch-hole display and prototypes have been spotted with such a design. It will be powered by Snapdragon 855 and will run Android Q out of the box.
