Nokia 3 started receiving October Android Security update some days ago, but the update didn’t bring the much-awaited Android 7.1.2 Nougat OS update for the Nokia 3. Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 are already getting Android 7.1.2 Nougat along with the October Security update.
We reached to HMD to understand the reason behind Nokia 3 not getting Android 7.1.2 update along with Nokia 5 and Nokia 6.
It seems Nokia 3 is poised to get Android 7.1.2 before the Android Oreo update but the update is delayed because of a very well-known reason. Mediatek processor on Nokia 3 means slight delay in getting updated drivers and some more time required to complete their testing.
This may mean that Nokia 3 will get Android 7.1.2 most probably with the next monthly update cycle (November).
