CounterPoint research has some words of advice for HMD to finetune their strategy and focus on customers in Asia, Europe, and MEA. For success in LATAM markets, HMD certainly needs to build relationships with operators.
We believe, 2018 most focus for @hmdglobal should be building smartphone demand in Asia, Europe & MEA as FP demand is robust driving positive cash flow,
2018 H2 & 1H2019 would need a focused strategy for operator-centric markets in LATAM to challenge Moto & Samsung.

Nokia smartphone shipments numbers touched 8.7 million in 2017 and it is certainly a solid start on which HMD needs to build upon in 2018. With HMD expecting to release a number of compelling smartphones like Nokia 6 2018, Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 8 Sirocco aka Nokia 9 and volume drivers like Nokia 1 in March-April globally we can expect a real boost to the shipment volumes further.
