HMD just launched its 2017 affordable flagship smartphone Nokia 8 in India. OnePlus 5 and Samsung Galaxy S8 are two competing flagship smartphones, which are very popular in India. In this article, we have compared the affordable Nokia Android flagship Nokia 8 to OnePlus 5 and Galaxy S8 in terms of specs, features, and price.
Nokia 8 comes with some cool features like Bothie, OZO Audio unavailable on both OnePlus 5 and Galaxy S8. Galaxy S8, however, comes with Wireless charging, Iris Scanner unavailable on both OnePlus 5 and Nokia 8. In terms of Dust and Water protection also Galaxy S8 offers better protection than Nokia 8. But OnePlus 5 lacks any water and dust protection and both Nokia 8 and Galaxy S8 are better than it in this aspect.
Coming to the display quality, Nokia 8 and Galaxy S8 come with displays providing much better PPI than the OnePlus 5. With high brightness of 700nits and Nokia display enhancements, Nokia 8 display is really a joy to use.
Rear camera wise Nokia 8, OnePlus 5 come with Dual-Lens cameras. Nokia 8 comes with Zeiss optics in both rear and front camera. Galaxy S8 has 12MP single lens rear camera. Front camera wise Nokia 8 and Oneplus 5 feature better cameras as compared to Galaxy S8.
Nokia 8 is now available in markets for an RRP of EUR 579 in European markets, £499 in the UK and is priced even less than that in Asian markets. In India, it is priced at Rs 36,999. Galaxy S8 is priced at EUR 999 and Rs 53,900 in India. OnePlus 5 starts at Rs 32,999 in India.
Nokia 8 offers great performance for a much better pricing as compared to Galaxy S8. Though it lacks wireless charging and Iris scanner available on Galaxy S8 but offers OZO Audio and Bothie features unavailable on Galaxy S8. Nokia 8 betters OnePlus 5 in display quality, Dust/Water protection, OZO Audio but OnePlus 5 comes with 6GB RAM in the base model.
