One of the USPs about HMD’s Nokia Android phones is that they are among the few who get regular updates like Google Pixel smartphone. This holds true for older phones as well or at least phones that are no older than two years. True to its word, the company is now planning to push the Android 9 Pie update to their so-called flagship device, Nokia 8 Sirocco.
On his Twitter handle, Juho Sarvikas while replying to a complaint confirmed that the Nokia 8 Sirocco is the next device which is going to get the Android 9 Pie followed by the Nokia 8.
Hi! We care a lot for Sirocco. One of the device I frequently use and I've been testing the Pie build. Sirocco will follow after Nokia 8, next in line.

As promised the Nokia 8 is now getting the Pie update after a few days of beta testing. What will be interesting to see here is that whether HMD with the Sirocco opt-in for Beta test before a public roll-out. However, as you are seeing from the above tweet, Sirocco is already having an affair with the Pie but only on devices of some of the internal employees like Juho; it is just that beta test is not available to anyone outside HMD. Nevertheless, since we have heard from the man accountable for product related things at HMD, it looks like it would take another month or so for the Android Pie get intimate with the Nokia 8 Sirocco.
