Nokia 2 will be the ultimate budget Nokia smartphone. While HMD didn’t launch it along with Nokia 8, it is preparing to launch it soon, it seems. Four variants of Nokia 2; TA-1023, TA-1035, TA-1007 and TA-1029 had earlier leaked via FCC certification.

Now, HMD has enabled LTE Band 5 on variants TA-1023 and TA-1035 with help of software update, reveals latest FCC application filed by HMD.

The major change filed under this application is:
1. Add LTE Band 5 by software enabling mechanism.
There is no change in hardware or in existing RF relevant portion.

TA-1035 is Dual-SIM while TA-1023 is a Single-SIM variant of Nokia 2. After this change, TA-1035/TA-1023 variants now support LTE Bands 2, 4, 5, 7, 12, 17 and 38.

Earlier Nokia 2 had appeared on Geekbench with 1GB RAM and Snapdragon 212. The FCC certification also leaked Nokia 2 prototype images revealing its design completely.
