It seems Lumia 535 is getting strong sales traction, as expected by us. Lumia 535 was finally released in India on 27th November. Now, the Zauba import data reveals that more than half million Lumia 535 has already been imported to India. In January itself, 237,040 units have been shipped to India and we still have more than 10 days left in the month. As per the Zauba report,
India imported lumia 535 worth USD 30,303,313 with total quantity of 502,468. China is the only supplier of lumia 535 .
Banglore Air Cargo accounted for 31.2% of imports followed by Delhi Air Cargo and Bombay Air Cargo which account for 28.8% and 20.5% of imports respectively.
Though, we have some reservations about Zauba import data as the total given may still be on the lower side. In November for example, we had calculated a import figure of around 90,000 as compared to 62,000 shown in the graph.
The way Lumia 535 sales are going in India, it certainly looks to give a market share boost to Windows Phone in India this quarter. With Lumia 435 and Lumia 532 joining it soon, Q1 may be a growth quarter for Lumia, as far India is concerned.
