We received the Lumia 530 review unit recently and we started our extensive coverage of the device. While playing with the device we could notice some issue with display calibration, as the Blacks are not as good as seen on even Lumia 630 and Lumia 525 and rather has a purple tint to it.

You can check our two of the earlier videos below, where we have compared it with Lumia 630 and Lumia 525. You can notice the difference in display Blacks and the color interpretation which makes the Green of Games app discolored or even while playing “Temple Run 2”, the graphics color looks dull on Lumia 530 while both Lumia 525 and Lumia 630 display appears normal.

Good news is that it can be fixed! All I needed to do is a hard reset by going to Settings—->About—-> Reset your phone. Make sure you have done a backup of your apps and settings before doing the hard reset. This fixes the corrupt color calibration software of the OS and the Display gets correct Black Levels. Check the before-after scenario below,

Lumia 530 Before-afterSo, while a hard reset fixes color or Black Levels of Lumia 530, you can get more out of Display by playing with its settings. Go to Settings—-> Display——->Color Profile and change Color settings. Below is what I like to use,
