HMD has finally appointed Florian Seiche as the new CEO after surprise exit of Arto Nummela three months ago. Florian Seiche was in fact appointed as the acting CEO after Arto Nummela. Now, this appointment may confirm that HMD board that also has senior Nokia executives as its members has grown its faith in Florian Seiche.
Florian will also join the HMD Global Board with immediate effect. Pekka Rantala, the HMD CMO has been also appointed as Executive Vice President.

Espoo, Finland 30 October 2017 – HMD Global Oy’s Board of Directors today announced the appointment of Florian Seiche as the Chief Executive Officer. Florian has also been elected to join the HMD Global Board, effective immediately.
The Board also gave additional responsibility to Pekka Rantala. In addition to his current role as Chief Marketing Officer, Pekka has been appointed to the role of Executive Vice President.
Commenting on the appointments, Sam Chin, Chairman of the Board, HMD Global Oy said: “Florian has been co-leading HMD Global as President since the start of the company. He is the best choice to be the CEO as he has been instrumental in leading our global operations and taking our first products to over 80 markets in the last few months.
