Nokia 6.1 Plus started receiving the Android Pie update yesterday becoming the third Nokia smartphone to do so in the process. Now, it seems the Pie update also brings a new Nokia Camera app with improved imaging quality and two new Dual-Sight features that we read about before with itself.
This was confirmed by HMD CPO Juho Sarvikas on Twittter. He has revealed that the imaging team has done some tuning on algorithms to make low-light performance better.
We got feedback from some of you that the low light pictures on your Nokia 6 Plus were too dark. We worked on this with our image qualilty tuning team and I trust you can see the difference now with Pie. Images are much brigter in low light. Please keep the feedback coming 🙏

While we can vouch for imaging quality improvements with the update on Nokia 6.1 Plus we will compare it with Google camera and will post in a separate article. Improvements especially look significant in terms of resolved details capture.
The two new features brought by this Nokia Camera version 91.9.1140.20 for Nokia 6.1 Plus are,
1. With the ‘You Decide’ feature in Dual-Sight, allows you to line one side of the picture/video, double tap to freeze it, then re-position your camera to get the best angle. Double-tap the second half, and your image is saved to your device.
2. Use the ‘Infinitely Adjust’ feature in Dual-Sight mode to adjust the proportion when taking photos or videos, letting you decide whether to show more from your front or rear camera.”
The Nokia Camera app doesn’t work very well on Nokia 7 Plus as it is meant for non-Zeiss smartphones. In case you want to try it on your smartphone here is the APK download link.
