Windows Phone and Their Large Displays

As we all know at nokia world 2013, nokia announced there new 6 inch phablets the nokia lumia 1520 and 1320.  A fat 6 inch screen was not the only thing these new jewels packed, they were also wired with the new GDR3 updates to go along with the bigger screens which allowed a third column to the OS.

Now with that little bit of background out of the way, the real topic of discussion how windows phone is taking advantage of their larger screens.  Well for anyone who has had the chance to use one of the new devices that packs a third column you know it just gives you one extra medium sized tile, which lets face it we all love live tiles.  But when you combine the extra screen size with the extra column you literally have all the information you need at a glance all the time.

Now you see my homescreen on my Lumia 928 above next to the 1520.  I do not think I have to say much to prove why Windows phone is really liking their large displays.  It is pretty simple more tiles=for info.  Also their is now talk of a possible 7 inch Phablets.  Windows is loving their new big displays, and I personally agree with it 100%, it just fits.  Please comment and let us know what you think.

I think that Microsoft should carefully save things they’ve got from Nokia. And not only making windows phone better from the point of view of multitasking and proper using phone storage, but immediately rolling out their updates for each windows phone user.

I played with one in the Microsoft store. I love the large size, and turned all the tiles that had live information to wide size. When you have email, sms and calendar set to wide, you get a lot of additional information. Of course pictures, weather and others also benefit from the wide setting.
I’m hoping for a Windows 8.1-like “Large” size in the future as well.

    • I agree with you if they had a 1520 for verizon I would have already bought it. I would love to see more large(5inch plus) screens on future lumias.

“homescreen on my above next to the 1520”, “more tiles=for info”, “Windows phone is really liking their large displays”. Need I say more?

    • I will make it make sense , I didn’t realize how it came out
