Tip: Nokia 9’s front camera is this 5 MP Dual-Camera module (Full Specs)

Yesterday we reported that Nokia 9 will come with a 5MP frontal camera, a disappointing news for many fans. But now a tip sent to us claims that it will be a 5MP Dual-Camera module. Not only this, the tip has revealed the details of this dual-camera module which seems to be valid.

As per the FCC certification, the Nokia 9 front camera is of “Chicony” made and the tip claims it will be “Chicony CKACE16”. The dual-camera module is of 5MP resolution and you can check the official specifications below.

Resolution 5M Auto-Focus and FHD1080P , dual camera
Lens 5M F2.4 Lens, FHD1080P F2.0 Lens
Microphone N/A
Interface USB2.0

So this Dual-Camera module will have two lenses, out of which one is 5MP F2,4 Lens and another FHD1080P F2.0 lens. Now, it seems to be seen whether HMD will equip this module with Zeiss lenses or not.

While this is an anonymous tip, we tried to browse all the camera modules made by Chicony and only this fits the bill.

So, if we trust this tip and we find enough reason to do so, Nokia 9 will pack a powerful frontal camera too. It will be one of the few smartphones to come with a Dual-Camera on front.

Tip… this was clearly reported by GSMArena, based on their investigation on manufacturer’s website 😀

Remember how the Nokia 8 and Nokia 9 were mixed up in the earlier leaks? This feels like the same thing happening again. Unless HMD have done a MAJOR overhaul of the Nokia 9.

Nokia 8 and Nokia 9 were always two different devices, one was supposed to be affordable another the ultimate flagship.

Yes, the Nokia 8 and Nokia 9 were always two separate devices. But when the rumour mill was churning back in June-August ’17, their rumours were mixed up, and rumours of the Nokia 8 were reported as rumours of the Nokia 9, and vice versa. Nobody knew if there was one or two devices coming, and what specifications belonged to which.

This seems like the same thing happening again.
