HMD launched its flagship smartphone Nokia 8 and in a big improvement in handling the release to market has targted September month for its global roll-out. But if you live in China and US you may be a bit worried considering HMD executives had reportedly told that Nokia 8 will not be launched in China and US.
But the good news is that HMD is rather planning to launch customized variants of Nokia 8 in US and China. This is as per our sources with knowledge of HMD’s plans. If you remember HMD launched Nokia 6 in China six months before launching it in any other market with 4GB RAM/64GB storage configuration while the global variant comes with 3GB RAM only.
It seems we can expect similar strategy in case of Nokia 8 and the Chinese variant may come with 6GB RAM/128GB ROM and probably with even more changes. We don’t have much information yet about the US specific variant but we can expect higher RAM than global variant for US market too.
We also hear that while HMD is assigning very high priority to China market but US market really doesn’t count that high on HMD’s focus market list. This is not surprising given Nokia brand has always seen great resonance in Europe, MEA, and Asian markets.
