Nokia 9.2 PureView will be the next Nokia flagship smartphone powered by Snapdragon 865 we recently reported. Now, there is an important piece of information that our souces have shared about its selfie camera.
It seems that for keeping the display free from any notch or punch-hole, HMD is testing two selfie camera solutions for Nokia 9.2 PureView. While the Pop-up selfie camera is a proven solution it seems that HMD is also toying with the idea of an under-display selfie camera.
Prototypes with both kinds of selfie cameras exist and are being tested extensively. HMD is wary of using an under-display selfie camera solution without testing its maturity, after the push-back it received for the in-display fingerprint sensor. The novel solutions in first stages of release usually come with many undocumented bugs and issues.
So, it won’t be surprising if Nokia 9.2 may finally come with a pop-up selfie camera. Since HMD is skipping the Nokia 9.1 and rightly so, it may like to make an early splash with Nokia 9.2 giving up the idea of an under-display selfie camera.
