Skype on Windows 10 Mobile gets SMS integration with the latest update

The much-desired feature of Skype being able to handle SMS has arrived on Windows 10 Mobile Redstone 2 with the latest update. In fact, now you can set Skype as the default messaging app and would be able to get the notifications from Skype app rather than Messaging.

After updating Skype Preview to latest version on Redstone 2 Builds, you will be prompted to integrate SMS and Skype. You can do so or ignore. Once done Skype will become the default messaging app and all the SMS conversations will be available in the Skype app.

The Skype Preview app also gets new settings related to Skype-SMS integration. You can change “default SMS application” if you don’t want to use Skype for texting anytime even after setting it up. SMS sync setting is also available along with more settings, that takes you to Messaging settings.
