Samsung has officially unveiled its newest flagship tablet, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, alongside the Galaxy Tab S12+ and the new Galaxy SmartTag 3 tracker. While keeping the sleek industrial canvas tech fans have come to expect, the new Ultra variant brings substantial under-the-hood upgrades designed to push pro-level productivity and mobile media consumption further.
Next-Gen Power: MediaTek Dimensity 9500
The headline feature of the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is its transition to the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor. Following intense anticipation sparked by 360-degree leaked renders and spec breakdowns, Samsung’s integration of this new silicon delivers noticeable leaps across every workload:
19% faster CPU performance for multi-tasking and app execution.
17% faster GPU performance for high-frame-rate mobile gaming and graphic rendering.
61% faster NPU performance, giving local Galaxy AI features significant headroom.
Complementing the chip upgrade is a revised audio architecture. As highlighted in early leaked press renders and key specs, the tablet incorporates four-channel speakers delivering immersive spatial audio, alongside support for Bluetooth 6.0 for lower latency and better power efficiency with wireless accessories.
Tested Hardware, Refined Software
While the internals see major speed improvements, much of the foundational hardware builds upon Samsung’s reliable flagship formula:
Display: 14.6-inch 120Hz OLED display (2960 × 1848 resolution).
Memory & Storage: Options up to 16GB RAM and up to 1TB onboard storage.
Battery & Charging: 11,600mAh battery paired with 45W fast wired charging.
Durability & Connectivity: IP68 dust and water resistance, Wi-Fi 7, 5G cellular variants, and desktop-style Samsung DeX.
On the software front, the Tab S12 Ultra ships with One UI 9.0 built on top of Android 17. Samsung backs the device with its industry-leading commitment of seven major OS upgrades and seven years of security patches.
