Nokia Mobile saw strong growth in smartphones shipments in the second quarter of 2021, claims a new report. The report also revealed a strong growth in Nokia smartphone shipments in the US market, after LG existed the market.

A Q2 2021 report from the analyst firm CounterPoint research has revealed some good news for Nokia Mobile fans. The report claims that Nokia smartphones shipments grew by 36% in the second quarter of 2021 compared to Q1 2021. The report attributes this growth to the launch of Nokia 1.4, G and C series of smartphones.

Nokia Mobile shipped nearly 12.8 million handsets in the Q2 2021. This Q2 shipment figure includes 10.1 million Nokia feature phones and 2.7 million smartphone units. Nokia was the second biggest brand in terms of market share in the feature phone market grabbing 18 per cent of the feature phone market share. However, feature phone shipments decreased compared to previous quarter by 8 per cent.

Another report from CounterPoint reveals that in H2 2021, Nokia Mobile was one of the brands getting the most benefit out of LG’s exit of the US market.

As per the data provided by the analyst firm, Nokia Mobile smartphone shipments grew by 35% during the first six months of 2021. This is again a great news for Nokia Mobile trying to make a mark in the US market.

The US smartphone market saw a 27% YoY increase in H1 2021 sales as carriers continued pushing 5G upgrades and heavily discounted 5G smartphones. Both Apple and Samsung devices were the top-sellers in the premium segment with 53% and 17% YoY growth, respectively. OnePlus, Motorola and Nokia HMD saw strong growth in the market by capturing the void left by LG’s exit from the smartphone business.
