Promo video. Android L’s “Material design” is flat & looks inspired by Metro design language.

Material design The latest version of Android, Android L has been unveiled today during the Google I/O event. So, while Android may be the leading smartphone and Tablet platform, Google seems, has been inspired lately by Microsoft, as far as the new design language which Android L brings with itself is concerned. The so called Android L “Material design” is flat and looks Metroesque!!

    I don’t think it’s that Metro inspired..

    Metro is very black and white, whereas this design is a lot more colourful. Flat elements, yes, but not that much more influence from Metro.

    It has more in common with iOS 7 and 8 than Windows Phone. For example, borderless buttons..

      As you probably know, I’m not really an MS fan, but a Nokia fan. I only bought the L520 because of the Nokia experience.

      Now Nokia has moved on from WP, I’m moving on as well.. No point getting another WP when Nokia’s best will be on Android 😉
