A new app has been found in Windows 10 store. This app aptly named “Photos Add-ins”adds new features to the native Windows 10 Mobile Photos app.
If one checks the screenshots of this app in action, one can simply see that it feels like “Lumia Moments” rechristened. It allows you to save photos from the video and you can choose from the options “Choose Best Frame” and “Create Action Shot”. But the naming of the app may suggest that it may be Microsoft’s chosen method to add new features to Photos app in future.
Microsoft has recently announced culling of many Lumia exclusive photo apps that Nokia has so fondly launched and managed. So, may be this is the wider plan and these apps may be brought to Windows 10 Mobile as Add-ins. With Apple projecting “Live Photos” as the major new feature of its latest iPhone 6S and iPhone 6s Plus smartphones, Microsoft may take its lesson already and should learn to highlight rather than killing innovative features one by one.
Coming to the app, while description suggests it may be fully supported on only Lumia 830, Lumia 930, Lumia Icon and Lumia 1520, we have installed it on Lumia 540 and above screenshots are from Lumia 540 only.
