After TMall pricing Lumia 1020 at Yuan 5999, even major retailer Suning’s official posters reveal the same price of Yuan 5999 for Lumia 1020. This clearly seems like Nokia’s strategy to price desired products like Lumia 1020 for a premium and they are right to an extent as, Lumia 1020 renders your average camera useless and packs that camera with a best on market smartphone. Anyways, this will not be welcomed by many and lets still wait for the official price. But, with two retailers pricing the device at similar price is hardly a coincidence!!

Those who opt for L1020 over L925 know that they are buying a camera embedded into a smartphone and shouldn’t be surprised by the price which is still less that the iPhone 5’s price.

With L1020 you’re buying 3 devices in 1: Best point and shoot and miniaturized camera, best video camera and one of the best smartphones. I actually find that price too small for what people are buying.

iPhone 5 does NOT even come closer to the quality and functionality built into L1020 but is sold for a higher price. Nokia cannot release L925 and L1020 and sell them at the same price – they target different market segments.
