Nokia “Wasp” variant TA-1179 passes certification in Canada hinting at its US & Canada launch

We last reported about sightings of yet to be launched Nokia “Wasp” smartphone variant TA-1179 in FCC certification. Now, the same variant has also appeared in the Candian certification thereby strongly hinting at its impending launch in the US and Canada.

While the certification itself doesn’t reveal too many details about Nokia Wasp, the FCC certification has earlier revealed that it will come with 3GB RAM +¬† 32GB internal storage configuration. The Antenna diagram reveals the size specs of the Nokia Wasp and it will have 145.96 x 70.56 as height and width.

All this leads us to the conclusion that we are perhaps looking at Nokia 2.2, the Nokia 2.1 successor. HMD may have planned to release it with a better memory configuration. We had reported about Nokia Wasp appearing in FCC and BIS certification. Other variants of Nokia Wasp are India-bound TA-1183 and dual-SIM variants TA-1184 and TA-1188.
