Nokia surpasses Sony as the fourth popular smartphone in Switzerland

It looks like all that efforts HMD put so far has finally started to pay off. According to a recent survey conducted by Comparis, Nokia has secured the fourth position with a usage rate of three percent in Switzerland beating Sony whose usage rate has fallen from four percent to two percent.

As you might have expected, the list is dominated by tech giants like Apple and Samsung. While iPhone bagged the most used smartphone award with 44 percent of the share Samsung ended up manage to secure only 36 percent, coming down from 39 percent. Among the devices between the two companies, iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus has the highest usage rate with 10 percent share followed by Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge that were managed to score nine percent. Huawei, on the other hand, has been constant and still sits on the third position with an eight percent of the share.

This is good news for Nokia but it still is a distant fourth. Even if it somehow manages to beat Huawei in Switzerland, it would take a lot to secure a spot in the top two of the list. That said, with a proper flagship HMD could have brought more to the table as markets like Switzerland are more inclined towards flagship devices. Nevertheless, to be able to secure such a position that too within a period of one year is nothing but praiseworthy.
