Google has started to make its new “Nearby Share” feature available to more Android smartphones and that list includes Nokia smartphones too. While we were able to check and find this feature available on our Nokia 8.1 and Nokia 6.1 Plus, it may already be available on other Nokia smartphones too.
Updated list of Nokia smartphones that already received Nearby Share:
- Nokia 8.1
- Nokia 6.1 Plus
- Nokia 7.1
- Nokia 5.1 Plus
- Nokia 7.2
- Nokia 3.2
- Nokia 5.3
- Nokia 4.2
- Nokia 8
- Nokia 9 PureView
- Nokia 7 Plus
- Nokia 8 Sirocco
How Nearby Share works:
- Android Nearby share feature can be configured by going to Settings–>Connected devices–>Connection preferences–>Nearby Share.
- Tap on Nearby Share and Set up number verification so that others can find you by using your phone number too
- Now go to “Device visibility” and set with whom you want to share. You can let all contacts see your device or choose who can see an contact you via Nearby share
- One configured, while sharing any file, you can tap on the share option and then choose “Nearby Share” from all options available
Do let us know if your Nokia smartphone has received Nearby Share feature. This feature is being rolled-out by Google and the release date for different smartphones may vary.
