Nokia smartphones getting the call-recording feature in India

Some of our readers have reported about the availability of call-recording feature on their Nokia smartphones in India. The above screenshots in the featured image have been taken from a Nokia 8.1 on a Jio network. Though one of our readers has shared a screenshot from his smartphone on the Airtel network too.

It is not clear as to how this feature has been enabled, but it seems more like an operator side roll-out as there have been no recent updates to enable call-recording from HMD. Also, this is not available for all Nokia smartphone users, even not all Nokia 8.1 devices have received this feature.

Once available, an option to record calls appears when you dial someone from your phone. You can start recording by tapping on record and a message of “your call is getting recording” plays.

You can also access the call recording under the recent contacts listed in the phone app, once you have recorded a call.

Thanks Ayush & Baiju for the tip. Cheers!!
