Great news for Nokia N8, Nokia E7, Nokia C7, Nokia C6-01, Nokia X7 and Nokia Oro owners. Belle Refresh is here and out to reach your devices. It is the same Firmware number for which we posted “Changelog” and which was leaked on RDA. Yes the version number 111.040.1511. For Nokia E6, version number is 111.140.0058, and should follow still this week, Nokia 500 updates will start to be launched within the next few weeks, according to Nokia.
Nokia has made it official and the update will be rolled out in phases, starting with the vanilla versions (ie. basic software variants without any specific operator or country configuration). Country and operator variants will follow within the next weeks, depending on local and operator approvals. The changelog given by them is like this,
- A new browser with HTML5 web apps support
- A new set of homescreen widgets
- The previously released Microsoft Office Mobile App and Nokia Maps Suite 2.0 in one package.
- Nokia N8 will have some extra apps for imaging
Though we think, our changelog may be more extensive than this,
- Qt 4.8 resulting in significant performance boost.
- Browser version 8.3 with HTML5 support.
- New version of Music Player.
- Bit of processor speed bump on the lines of full FP1 for 603, 700 and 701. A bump to 1 Ghz is expected as some reports say, 1st Gen Belle device processor have capability to go as high as 1Ghz.
- Many new Widgets, available only with Belle FP1 Firmware on 603,700 and 701 are also making their way to 1st Gen Belle devices.
