Nokia’ Q2 2012 results. Lumia sales 4 millions. Featurephones up by 4%. Nokia’ cash reserve still 4.2 billion Euros ($5.2 billion).

Nokia’s Q2 2012 is out and as expected it is not rosy. But there are some positives as well which can ensure Nokia’s sustenance in the long run.

  • Featurephone sales seems to be bouncing back after dismal decline in first quarter of 2012. 73 million units were sold which is 4% up quarter on quarter.
  • Cash reserve is still  4.2 billion euros ($5.2 billion) which is good considering Analysts’ worse expectations.
  • Lumia sales exceeded Analyst’s expectations at 4 million units.
  • EUR 400 million pre-payments from existing IPR licenses.
  • Nokia filed more patents in the first half of 2012 than any previous six month period since 2007.
  • 4 out of 5 cars with in-built navigation uses Nokia’s location services.
  • Yahoo, Flickr, Bing and more partners are coming on Nokia Location platform.
