Nokia Mobile has been working to bring phones powered by GAFP OS (Google Android for Feature Phones). While Nokia 400 4G appeared in various leaks in year 2020, Nokia Mobile didn’t launch it yet. But now a new report claims that a Nokia Mobile phone powered by GAFP OS is headed to India and will be operator-exclusive.
This has been shared by a trustworthy source for Nokia Mobile related leaks, Hikari Calyx on Twitter. He has mentioned that the GAFP keypad phone is made for an Indian operator and will come with its Pay and TV app pre-installed. That tells us the operator in question may be either Airtel or Jio.
Coming to the Nokia 400 4G leaks in year 2020, a Nokia product variant TA-1208 appeared as Nokia 400 4G in the Wi-Fi certification with the GAFP operating system. This TA-1208 variant had also appeared in Bluetooth and in BIS certification in India. So, an Indian connection to Nokia 400 4G seems already established.
The Bluetooth certification revealed the Bluetooth 4.2 specs, LTE support and also the fact that it is powered by a Unisoc processor that can be one of the processors listed below. Just to refresh your memories this GAFP OS had already appeared in a leaked video running on a Nokia feature phone. While HMD Global has launched many smart feature phones with KaiOS already, it also considers GAFP OS as a viable option it seems.
This new report may hint at Nokia 400 4G finally making its way to Indian market as an operator-exclusive smart feature phone. So, question arises whether we will see it getting launched along with Nokia C20, Nokia X10, Nokia X20, Nokia G20 and Nokia G10 on April 8. A page is already up with teaser about the launch event on official Nokia site and HMD has also sent the press invites recently.
