The latest Global 500 2018 list by Brand Finance brings some great news for Nokia fans and investors alike. As per this report that features 500 most valuable brands globally, Nokia has registered a 70% jump in the brand value in 2018.
Nokia jumped from 335rd to 188th place in the latest global 500 brand rankings posted by Brand Finance. Because of this rise in brand value, Nokia is now the Nordic region’s third most valuable brand behind H&M and IKEA.
This rise in brand value can be attributed to recent strong performance in Technology business and return of Nokia to phones via licensing deal with HMD. In Q4 2017, Nokia Technologies business saw very strong profit and sales growth.
The innovations that Nokia invested into over a long run are now resulting in a continuous stream of cash inflow for the company via major licensing deals it has secured with many phone manufacturers in recent times.
Coming to phones, in the very first year of its return, Nokia was the second top feature phone brand and enjoyed market leadership in Europe. In Q4 2017, Nokia Sold More Smartphones Than HTC, Sony, Google, OnePlus, Lenovo. This is a testimony to the brand recall that Nokia as a phone brand still enjoys across the globe.
