If you remember, Nokia 6 Chinese version ran Android 7.0 out of the box. The global variants of Nokia 6 however are listed with Android 7.1.1 Nougat. So, with HMD’s promise of regular system and security updates, it was matter of time before Android 7.1.1 update arrived for Nokia 6 in China.
Now, it seems Android 7.1.1 Nougat is actually rolling out to Nokia 6 Chinese version and not only people in China but even those in other markets who bought it are receiving the update. For updating your Nokia 6, you need to go to Settings and check for system updates. The update required some 616 MB space on your phone.
HMD last revealed to us that it has already pushed March Security update for Nokia 6 and is planning to release April Security updates. But now seems April update is Android OS update + Security update. It also brings Nokia USB driver update and updated versions of pre-loaded apps. Good going there HMD!!
Coming to what Android 7.1.1 brings over Android 7.o, you can refer to the official changelog posted by Google.
