Bloomberg reports that Nokia’s venture-capital arm Nokia Growth Partners plans to invest in California startup Pelican Imaging. This startup Pelican is one of the companies that master the software behind new imaging technology known as Array cameras. These Array cameras use multiple optics and mesh the data into one image, and are reportedly on the cusp of being commercialized. These cameras provide greater depth of field and ease of splicing together images. May be we can coon see one of PureView Lumia camera employing the technology because as per our memory goes we have seen Nokia being granted a patent involving multiple sensor to get one image :).
