Microsoft now rumored to release Windows 10 Mobile update in March

As per a report by Evan Blass in VentureBeat, Microsoft has yet again sent e-mails to vendors regarding roll-out plans of Windows 10 Mobile update in March. Take it with a pinch of salt as we have reported a February roll-out rumor earlier from the same source and that timeline has passed already.

As per this latest report, Microsoft is targeting a release in March now, that will reportedly occur after the regular monthly service updates for the Lumia 950 and 950 XL. It also seems Microsoft will push Firmware and OS updates separately.

The report however fails in giving a fixed date for release date for Windows 10 Mobile yet again and we will reach to our sources about some better timelines for the Windows 10 Mobile update. Though we must admit Microsoft has got everyone guessing on this.

To me and many others this update will determine whether Microsoft will continue to be a viable Mobile OS provider in the future. Microsoft, take your time, do it right and don’t forget about your promise to provide the update to *all* Win 8 devices… If you fuck me second time it’s definitely over!

If that’s the case, you better make a decision on whether you’ll carry an Android vs. iOS device. I’ve had the 950 XL since the beginning and it’s still REALLY REALLY buggy… and awful. Tack on the fact that Microsoft is allowing AT&T to hold up firmware updates (for carrier unbranded, unlocked devices) and it’s pretty clear that Microsoft is putting their efforts everywhere BUT Windows mobile. Don’t believe me? Which device has the best Microsoft apps? iOS, Android, or Windows Phone?

I already carry an Android device with me and I own several iOS devices (but no iPhone). There’s really a lot I like about Windows Mobile and at least the apps coming from Nokia apps are (were?) really terrific. I really don’t care much about apps from an app store but I do expect outstanding functionality out-of-the-box which Android phones spectacularly fail to deliver and even iOS lags slightly behind Windows Mobile. What I really hate about Windows Mobile is the false promises of supporting a device made by Microsoft only to revert on that stance and drop it a while later. I still have Windows Phone 7 devices lying around, I do have an HTC 8X lying around which is already known not to receive the update and I’ll be really pissed if they don’t deliver the already promised update for my Lumia 820, especially since the software available for WM 8.1 already starts to get stale…
