Lumia 950 XL vs iPhone 6S Plus: Camera Shootout (Stills & Video) in both Daylight & Low-light conditions

Lumia 950 XL vs iPhone 6 Plus

Laat we covered a high-end camera shootout between Galaxy S6 Edge + and Lumia 950 XL!! Now the same YouTube Channel SuperHDview has pitted Apple’s best smartphone camera in iPhone 6s Plus against Lumia 950 XL‘s PureView camera. The video has daylight and night time video comparison, OIS test and still images comparison too.

We have enlisted the new and amazing camera features of Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL in one of our earlier articles. Also click here for some great Lumia 950 camera samples (Stills).

Here is what we observed after watching this video.

  • OIS works clearly better on Lumia 950 XL. Also the video quality (smoothness, amount of details) captured with Lumia 950 XL camera looks simply superior.
  • iPhone 6S Plus seems to have some issue with color rendering and white balance. In daylight images and video have a slightly Yellow tinge and in low-light you can see a Red / Yellow tone appearing in iPhone 6s images and video.
  • While both cameras have variable tone Flash, Lumia 950 XL camera seems to capture much more natural images and keeps white balance correct with more details.

  • While Stills can’t be compared very well in a video, but side-by-side Lumia 950 XL stills look more natural and with better details in nearly all conditions.

  • I’m a Lumia fan and have the 950 XL, but I call it even. Night is better with the 950, but daylight n most cases the iPhone. Details are great and maybe even better with the 950 but the colors are oversaturated. Microsoft can solve this with a software update, so the 950 has better potentional…

I am not sure but I see oversaturation with iPhone in most of the cases, Yellow, Red tinge and color vibrancy. Lumia 950 XL has it natural.
